Through their looks, their expressions, their clothing, certain gestures or a few discreet signs that we were able to exchange at the time of shooting, I tried to show, with the greatest respect, the striking features of their personalities. Today, this region is classified as a red zone, prey to constant attacks by AQIM. They have all had to leave their villages to take refuge near Ouahigouya and are among the more than 2 million displaced people living in precarious conditions in Burkina Faso.

I’ll long remember all those long encounters. They were all extraordinarily simple and intense exchanges and sharing, regardless of beliefs or customs. Moments of fraternity despite our differences. ‘May God give us life until tomorrow’.
